Swan Lake was first performed on the stage of the Imperial Theatre in Moscow between 1875-76 and was composed by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky. The scenario was created from Russian and German folktales and tells the story of Odette, a princess who was turned into a swan by the curse of an evil magician.
