Thai food in Berlin

Thai cuisine is very popular in Germany, as can be seen from the large number of these restaurants in Berlin. The Thai cuisine naturally also agrees influences from neighboring Asian countries such as China and India. Nevertheless, the Thai food culture has managed to retain its individual independence over many centuries.
The extraordinary taste experience is characteristic for Asian cuisine, as the Thai's like spicy and fruity spices and thus conjure up particularly aromatic dishes. Ginger, red, yellow and green chilli, lime, fish sauce and the famous Thai basil are used. Thai basil is used to prepare three types of food: Sweet basil (anise-like taste) for soups and sauces, reddish Indian basil for wok and meat dishes and lemon basil for fish and soups.
The chilli peppers are not only used for seasoning, but are also the basis for the three coloured curry pastes. These are fried in a wok with other ingredients such as coriander, garlic, lemongrass and galangal and then extinguished with coconut milk. Depending on the desired recipe, meat, fish and/or vegetables are then added. The Thai curries there are countless varieties, often with nuts or pineapple. Otherwise the Thai soups, salads and snacks are always worth trying. Tom Kha Gai (coconut milk soup with chicken) and Tom Yum Goong (clear broth with prawns, sour-hot) are real kitchen classics! Snacks like spring rolls and Wan Tan (dumplings) are often served with a delicious dip!
