WELTKONZERTE: Azabache Flamenco - in Babylon

Azabache Flamenco - that is pure feeling of life between joy, hope, suffering! This is the powerful, passionate, but also mysterious fusion of rhythmic dance, powerful singing and filigree guitar playing.

Azabache stands for a deep blue, dazzling black. And that's exactly what makes this show so stirring, sensual and fascinating at the same time. The professional dancers and musicians of the ensemble inspire the audience with multi-faceted performances, sparkling temperament and passionate presence.

The different cultures of Andalusia reflect flamenco in its true diversity, e.g. melodies with Persian proximity, Gregorian chant and dances of the African space.

The artists have been performing together since 1994. The resulting intimacy and "knowing each other" characterise the concerts as well as the passion of the individual dancers and musicians for flamenco. When the soles are whirling on the parquet floor, the heel gets caught in the skirt, the shreds fly - just like in real life.
