Vegetarian food in Berlin
Being a vegetarian is a statement in this day and age. Vegetarian nutrition can be practised more or less consistently: in addition to omitting animal food, as an ovo-lacto-vegetarian you can eat dairy products and eggs. Or just one of them, then an ovo-vegetarian or a lacto-vegetarian. The number of followers of the vegetarian nutrition philosophy is constantly increasing and many supermarkets, retailers and restaurants - even hotels, airlines and tour operators have responded to this trend. The vegetarian cuisine deliberately avoids the use of foods of animal origin.
It is actually relatively easy to find vegetarian dishes on the menu when eating out in Berlin. In the burger or steak restaurant, you certainly have to be much more willing to compromise than in Turkish, Italian or Asian restaurants... Furthermore, there is also a good selection of vegetarian restaurants in Berlin. There it is also possible to order starters and main courses with so-called meat substitute products. Herbal ingredients such as cabbage, beetroot, celery or certain mushrooms are used for this purpose. Tofu and soya products are also very good meat substitutes for Bratlinge, sausages and Bratwürste such as Polenta and Saitan.
You see, even without meat you can spend a nice evening in Berlin in the restaurant with friends or family!
