Eat French in Berlin

French cuisine has been world famous for centuries, both for its versatility and for its quality and exclusivity. For the French, food is an important part of their private and social lives, and so they meet with friends or family to dine extensively in the evenings and at weekends. The meal always consists of several courses and can sometimes take more than three hours from the aperitif to the coffee after the dessert. A traditional menu usually consists of the following courses: amuse guel as an appetizer, hors d´ oevre as an appetizer (soup, pâté, omelette, sausage speciality, salad), an intermediate course, the main course of fish or meat and the dessert as a fromage or desert (cheese or sweet dessert). The cheese as last course is a very French cult: there are more than 500 different cheeses in France! The menu generally ends with a digistif, such as cognac, calvados, armagnac or a high-quality fruit schnapps. In any case, an espresso similar to coffee will be served at the end. Of course, the typical baguette and water will be served with the meal. The choice of a red or white wine naturally depends on the main course selected. The Frenchman decides - rightly - almost exclusively for domestic wines, gladly also for open wines in the carafe! Logically, the selection of bottled wines is always very extensive and priced in all categories available! The top vineyards in France are located in Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne, Rhone and Loire.
