Eat alpine food in Berlin
The Alpine region is the highest mountain range in Central Europe and stretches from Slovenia to the French south coast and Monaco. The Alpine ridge crosses a total of eight countries. It is all too logical that the culinary influence of Alpine cuisine is mainly influenced by regional cuisines! Some regions are more prominent - such as Austrian, Swiss and German Alpine cuisine. Others are outstanding in culinary terms and are very much local - rarely represented in Germany: French and Italian Alpine cuisine and Slovenia as well as Lichtenstein play rather a special role in Germany.
This is how our understanding of Alpine cuisine concentrates on Southern Germany and our two German-speaking neighbours. It is also possible to enjoy Alpine delicacies far away from the Alps. The cuisine is down-to-earth and not exactly known as low-calorie, but in any case varied and delicious! Who doesn't have water in their mouth when it comes to the traditional classics such as knuckle of pork, rösti, potato salad, fried chicken, juice goulash, pancake soup, bread dumplings, Kaiserschmarrn, yeast dumplings, apricot dumplings or "Obstler"? And don't you think of the beautiful hours you spend hiking with a snack on a board, a cyclist and an Almdudler or the great experiences you have while skiing with Jagatee and Willi with Apreé-Ski and a cosy dinner in the evening? Take your time in Berlin for a culinary journey through the alpine cuisine!
