The fact that the term service describes the word service on a global scale is not necessarily taken into account in everyday language. For us, a service is more likely to be a service that is provided (for us), but not in the form of a concrete object such as a craftsman, where it is primarily a matter of creating a material value. The service is the transfer of the value already produced.
In recent decades, the service sector in the highly developed industrial countries has developed strongly, partly because manual production work is increasingly carried out by highly modern equipment, machines or even fully automated. In this sense, the flow of workers moved more and more into the area of service providers.
The range of services on offer is broad and extends from call centres and customer service to the citizen's office, the vehicle registration office and the tax office. The tailor's shop around the corner is also a service company, as is the photo shop with passport photos or photo shoot, the petrol station with washing service, the driving school or the advertising agency. Of course also all kinds of the retail trade from the baker shop to the optician belong to the services of the daily need!
