Richard Wagner - Stage consecration festival in three acts - poetry by Richard Wagner!
With his PARSIFAL, Richard Wagner created a new myth of his own in the free poetic handling of motifs from the most diverse legends, the Christian and Buddhist religion, and Schopenhauer's world of ideas. The desire for salvation accompanied Wagner himself for decades, at PARSIFAL he faced the question of private and social salvation on an artistic level with particular intensity. A strong leader is longed for, society is to be renewed. But also the appointment of the new ruler Parsifal is only another stage in the repetitive, frozen ritual of power.
By the way - since its foundation in November 1912, the Deutsche Oper Berlin has been regarded as one of the most important international venues for Richard Wagner's musical theatre.

On November 7, 1912, the Deutsches Opernhaus was inaugurated with FIDELIO and, in the following decades, served as a stage especially for Puccini's and Wagner's works. The house has remained faithful to the democratic ideal of a citizen opera after its destruction in World War II: Fritz Bornemann's new building, opened in 1961, is intended as a framework for a modern music theatre, which can be experienced from all seats as a total work of art.
