What is it? - An orchestra?
Symphonie is an interactive theater piece for up to 60 participants. Equipped with their own digital instrument, each member of the audience becomes part of the orchestra and in turn part of their own instrument ensemble. The orchestra thus becomes an analogy of a society: groups form, it gets loud. Who is heard and why? Who gets a voice and who doesn't? Who belongs, who is excluded?
60 digital string instruments form the setting of the piece, in which power and discriminatory structures become visible. But the instruments also help to create community and strength.

Founded in 1987 as an independent theatre group, Theater Strahl has been staging two permanent stages in Berlin Schöneberg since the end of the 1990s, mainly with premieres, and since 2013 also in the STRAHL.Halle am Ostkreuz. Theater Strahl also goes on tour, makes guest appearances throughout Germany and internationally, and is repeatedly nominated and awarded theatre prizes.
