A beautiful old apartment in Berlin Mitte, the dream of every Berliner. Marco Hilpers lives in it, it does not belong to him yet, but his father bought it for him and one day he will inherit it. Nevertheless, Marco is broke and desperately needs money. So he decides to rent out a room in the apartment and makes an appointment to see it.
All of Berlin and the surrounding area runs up, from Olaf Scholz, Armin Laschet, Robert Habeck to Karl Lauterbach, precariously employed women in existential distress meet ice-cold top managers who want to temporarily park their mistresses cheaply. Speculators meet FDP careerists, crazy self-made existences and suddenly wealthy left-wing autonomists turn Marco's cozy home more and more into a madhouse. Marco has the free choice.
But the apartment has more pitfalls - on the one hand Marco's constant roommate Lutz, who simply stayed there after a party three years ago and now effectively lives there, up to the father, who is not as happy about his son's lifestyle as he thinks... The craziest constellations arise, politicians become private, the private becomes political. And above all the threatening sword of Damocles - tomorrow the nice flat-sharing life can already be over, if dad suddenly makes problems...
