Alexander Zeldin directs Beyond Caring at the Schaubühne am Lehniner Platz.

Gregers Werle accepts an invitation to his father's house after many years of absence. He had long avoided old Werle, a rich industrialist, because his father had cheated on his late mother and driven her to alcoholism. Gregers has also invited Hjalmar Ekdal, his best friend from childhood, to the dinner party at which father Werle cultivates his relationships with the city's most important politicians and presents his housekeeper as a potential new life partner. In conversation with Hjalmar, Gregers realizes that his father not only put Hjalmar's father in prison for a fraud in which he himself was involved, driving the formerly wealthy family to ruin, but also set up his former lover Gina with Hjalmar. Gregers knows what he has to do. He moves in with Hjalmar and Gina, who live with their daughter Hedwig and Hjalmar's father, to expose the lies on which their existence is based. Gregers is convinced that learning the truth about the past and his father's machinations will help the entire Ekdal family to lead a happier, more honest life.

Two years after Ibsen wrote "An Enemy of the People", a play about the importance of truth, he wrote "The Wild Duck", a text that explores the value of lies. Do we need lies in order to live at all? Are truth and absolute honesty always good, or can they also be destructive? And to what extent are we allowed to intervene in other people's lives?

The second time with the Get2Card I was asked for my identity card. Otherwise, everything's fine, best cream.

toll toll toll.
Beim 2.
