This year, the state music councils have chosen the accordion as Instrument of the Year 2026. Two important accordion orchestras in Germany have taken this as an opportunity to give a joint concert on March 14, 2026. The Landes-Akkordeon-Orchester Berlin (LAOB) under the direction of Silke D'Inka and the renowned Bundes-Akkordeon-Orchester (BuAkkO) under the direction of Stefan Hippe invite you to an extraordinary concert experience in the main hall of the Berlin Philharmonie.The concert will offer a varied and top-class program full of emotion, virtuosity and sonority - from film music and contemporary works to great symphonic poetry.

The Landes-Akkordeon-Orchester Berlin was founded in the early 1980s and revived in 1989 by Horst W. Fröhlich, who conducted it until his death in 2003. Since then, the orchestra has worked with renowned conductors from the German accordion scene and interprets demanding original works as well as classical arrangements. The ensemble comprises 36 dedicated amateur musicians and enjoys an excellent reputation.
