The sonic.art saxophone quartet is a chamber music ensemble with an international flair, as its members come from Australia, Belarus, Japan and Thuringia and have studied in Paris, Amsterdam, Berlin and London. The four saxophonists came together in 2005 and have since found their very own style.On the second weekend of Advent, they will play special Christmas pieces from their rich repertoire, including excerpts from J. S. Bach's Christmas Oratorio and P. I. Tchaikovsky's Nutcracker. They will also perform J. Brahms' "Hungarian Dances" and selected works by Bernstein, which create completely new sound experiences on the instruments. With a great deal of charm and subtlety as well as a pleasant stage presence, sonic.art have rightly earned themselves a reputation as a top-class ensemble.
