Renaissance-Theater Berlin: Steel animal. An exorcism in memory of Willy Zielke

Renaissance-Theater Berlin, Knesebeckstraße 100, 10623 Berlin, Charlottenburg

Tickets 2for1 When: Dec. 2023 - Jan. 2024

Sensationally good. Really stunning.

In a small Parisian apartment: Marlene Dietrich and Viv, her long-time companion through the highs and lows of her legendary career. Withdrawn from the world, the days pass by. But today it is as if the past is coming back to life. In this dramatic confrontation, the global star confronts his own myth.

In her biography, Sven Ratzke senses the challenge of reinventing herself in the most diverse facets of her personality. He immerses himself in the character of Marlene in order to confront her radiance - as he has done in various programs about the music legend David Bowie in sold-out venues from NYC to Sydney, from Amsterdam to London.

The singer and entertainer, who has created an international sensation with his artful shows and excellent music, has established himself as a world-class stage star.

"Marlene Dietrich wandered between the sexes and showed enormous courage in her stubbornness and absolute perfectionism. Trapped in fame and disappeared in an artificial figure that she created herself. I look into the mirror she holds up to our time and to all artists, see myself and look for her. What a challenge!"

From this perspective, the reworking of Pam Gems' original version of the play develops into a surprising, humorous and touching story. A prologue and an epilogue, written especially for this performance by the renowned Dutch writer Connie Palmen, offer the play additional lyrical and emotional spheres. From the depths of Marlene's soul.

The theater is getting on in years, the air in the hall is very warm and exhausting to endure. Due Get2card was accepted without any problems and a reservation was possible by telephone. Sven Ratzke is a wonderful artist and had the audience on the edge of their seats.

We were in :4 Star Hours
It was an entertaining evening with Rufus Beck in the leading role.1 1/2 hours without a break. After initial hesitation, but a friendly courtesy when it comes to issuing cards. Unfortunately the backrests of the chairs in this old theatre are very low and the distance between the rows of seats is very small, an obstacle for tall people. Afterwards you could speak to the actors, which unfortunately not many
People did.

Leute taten.

In any case a beautiful theatre worth seeing! Booking via the bonus program and card collection were completely unproblematic. I'd love to do it again!
