The story of the friendship between the German working-class child, actor and singer Manfred Krug and the Jewish-Polish writer and screenwriter Jurek Becker, who survived the Shoah, is brought to the stage by Eleganz aus Reflex and used as a springboard to talk about contemporary issues and social cohesion.
Manfred Krug, tired of change and overwhelmed, is representative of many of us on this evening and is a possible signpost on how to deal with a transformation that we feel at the mercy of.
