PLEASURE - A musical theater by Oblivia!
Everyone is looking for it, everyone longs for it and whole societies are built on it: Together with two musicians* the Finnish cult troupe Oblivia sets out to find and celebrate "Pleasure". In this evening of music theater, they humorously explore the living pleasure principle of man between rave and beauty cult, eternal promise of growth and Carpe Diem.
In catchy songs between musical and punk rock, body-made sounds and the (electro) sounds of the multi-award-winning composer Yiran Zhao, Oblivia approaches the different aspects of everything that can constitute "pleasure" privately and politically: And so the songs meander between everyday and universal themes, tell of leisure stress and self-care trends, as well as of the great questions of meaning of our existence. Because in the end, all that remains is a big nothing - right?
The Germany-wide and internationally successful company can finally be seen live again in Berlin after seven years, reinforced for the first time by the Finnish sound performer Juha Valkeapää as well as the soprano Gabriela Lesch and Thilo Ruck on guitar.
